WINGMAN

wingman.png
  • Make your flight the ultimate Top Gun Experience and bring a Wingman

  • Bring a friend by adding this Wingman Package to your ACES Mission

  • Available on any ACES Mission as a two-ship formation with additional aircraft

  • Each aircraft will take turns being the lead ship in close military-style formation

  • Break for Aerobatics manoeuvres, then return to formation and continue on

The ultimate thrill-seeker adventure for two. Fly with your wingman and experience all the excitement of formation and aerobatic flight together.

DETAILS

With this optional Wingman package you can now fly any of our missions in close military-style formation, close enough to see the smile on each other's faces.

Upon arrival in Bankstown you and your wingman will receive a full briefing on your aircrafts, all aspects of the flight, safety procedures, and the objectives of your chosen ACES mission.

Once strapped in you’ll experience what it’s like to sit behind a 9 cylinder radial engine and we’ll taxi for takeoff. Then you will take off side-by-side and head out on your adventure where you will take turns in leading the formation either side-by-side or in "tail-chase" configuration.

Each ACES mission is designed to provide an opportunity to experience some extreme aerobatics based on combat manoeuvres. If you're up for the challenge, you’ll experience the thrill of high g-forces as you roll and loop through the sky, while experiencing cuban 8s, stall turns, inverted flying, and other figures. You will break away from your Wingman for this part of the flight and once the individual aerobatic sequences are completed you will re-join the formation to head back to base.

Throughout the flight you will be able to hear all radio calls and you will be in constant contact with your pilot. That means you can also let them know how high you want to raise your pulse during the aerobatics.

This is truly a fantastic experience and a perfect gift idea for aviation fans, adrenalin-junkies or something different to experience together with that special someone.

The Aircraft

For Wingman flights we have partnered with Salt Air Services to offer their amazing Nanchang CJ-6. The "Chang" as it is often called is not dissimilar to our ACES Yak in that it is powered by the same kind of powerful radial engine. In fact the Chinese Chang's predecessor was based on the Soviet's Yak18.

The CJ6's role was to serve a trainer for new combat pilots in the People’s Liberation Army Air Force. With its flush riveted aluminium construction and dyhedral wing design, the Chang is known for robustness and excellent handling characteristics.

Key Characteristics:

Crew: 2
Maximum speed: 300 km/h
Range: 700 km
Max. G Load: +6 / -3G
